In the context of the Convergence Programme, the national Оffices and OHIM are to determine a common approach regarding the acceptability of the terms of the Nice Classification.
The Trade Marks Offices in the EU have created a set of guidelines to assist in determining whether a term of the Nice Classification is sufficiently clear and precise, and can then be accepted by the Offices without further specification.
The Common Communication of May 2nd 2013 on the Implementation of “IP Translator” and the Common Communication of November 20th 2013 on the Common Practice of General Indications in the Class Headings of the Nice Classification were similarly updated.
