The 2014 Special 301 Report presents the good example of the EU for positive development in IP protection. The proposal of the European Commission in 2013 for a Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council on the Protection of Undisclosed Know-How and Business Information (Trade Secrets) Against Their Unlawful Acquisition, Use and Disclosure is approved by The United States. This improvement will contribute to the harmonization of civil trade secret law in EU and protecting trade secrets. The EU has the support of The US to continue the positive development.
