By decision of the President of the European Patent Office dated 18 August 2014 pursuant to Article 10(2) EPC, the Guidelines for Examination have been amended (OJ EPO 2014, A88). The amended Guidelines will apply as from 1 November 2014. In order to inform users of the relevant procedural changes in advance, they have been made available online in three languages before they become applicable.
The sections of the Guidelines in which amendments have been made in the 2014 edition can be viewed in this list.
Within an amended section, the exact changes made to the text can be viewed by ticking the “Show modifications” box in the upper right corner, which displays inserted text with a green background and deleted text in red strikethrough font.
Important notice: Until 1 November 2014, the September 2013 edition of the Guidelines remains the official valid version.
